John N. Lavis, MD PhD, is the Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Transfer and Exchange, an Associate Professor (in both the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the Department of Political Science), and a Member of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis at McMaster University . His principal research interests include knowledge transfer and exchange in public policymaking environments and the politics of healthcare systems. He directs the Program in Policy Decision-Making, a research program affiliated with McMaster’s Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis, and he wrote the report that underpins the chapter on “linking research to action” in the World Report on Knowledge for Better Health.

Andy Oxman (MD, PhD) is a key contributor to the development of evidence-based medicine, member of the WHO Advisory Committee on Health Research and chair of its Subcommittee on the Use of Research Evidence, Andy Oxman has been the chair of the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group and editor of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews. He is a member of the Effective Practice and Organisation of Care Group’s editorial team, and coordinating editor of the Methodology Review Group. He has been a partner in seven EC projects, three as coordinator. He is a public health physician and health systems researcher with experience managing large research projects, teaching and working internationally. He will contribute substantial methodological expertise to the project and will contribute to all WPs.

Göran Tomson (MD, PhD), Has extensive experience with health policy and systems projects in Africa and Asia. He is a member of WHO expert panel on drug policy and management, visiting professor at Shandong University, China, Scientific Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) at the Alliance for health policy and systems research (AHPSR) and member of the board of the International Network on Rational Use of Drugs (INRUD). Leader of the KI health systems and policy research group (www.phs.ki.se/ihcar/hsp) with PhD students from Bangladesh China, Lao , Vietnam and African countries. For 10 years leader of the Lao National Drug Policy project and since 12 years collaborating with MoH in Vietnam
